Surviving the storm

I took a picture of these flowers after a snowstorm, I'm so impressed with how they have endured.

Something a little more serious tonight than usual. I feel kind of silly for sharing yet another health problem but it seems to be part of my journey.

A couple of weeks ago I had an ultrasound heart test because some pre surgery doctors had been hearing a heart murmur. Well it didn't show a murmur at all but it did show some other problems. My doctor sent me for a drug induced stress test. I was hoping that nothing would come of it because this has been a ridiculous year for me as far as health, and it would just be really silly to open another venue of ill health. However it turns out that sometime, no idea for sure when, I had a mild heart attack in my right coronary artery area, not enough to go through the whole muscle wall of the heart. The test didn't show a lot of damage or blockages close to the heart and my heart has adjusted to the change so there doesn't seem to be any immediate danger or actions to take. Well other than continuing to get healthier. However I'm being referred to a cardiologist to see if I need any further testing.

My doctor still thinks I can have the knee surgery just have to see the specialist first. I guess the scariest thing is the silent aspect of it but apparently that goes along with diabetes sometimes. There was an evening at the height of the radiation and the height of the pain killers that I wondered if something was going on with my heart but I talked my self out of it as just the result of not sleeping due to pain and probably just palpitations due to hot flashes. My doctor says we'll never know what or when it happened.

Anyway, I feel great, all healed from the radiation and I intend to carry along on my healing journey and look forward all the more to my new knee and being able to move more.

Just like the flowers I plan on enduring and enjoying life just as it is.

Can't leave you without at least one funny Internet picture!
